Anybody know what the food is like at the Earl of Eldon? I know they have two St. Lucian chefs there now, and a new menu, but I don't know what they do on pool nights. |

By all accounts and according to what I have just read I think we should be taking a trip to a very lovely pub tucked away in the middle of nowhwere and serving up some mouth watering Gourmet. And if that's not enough, they do desert aswell.
Yes you've guessed it, The Flying Machine.
Suppose after watching some great pool and having contempment in our bellies, we could always go off plane spotting before heading back to reality. |

Rileys Ladywell/Lewisham. Waiter service at the start of the match nights (Le Shark) to take your order of baguette of choice and own bowl of chips. Worth the journey... |

Last night we had :-
A wide selection of chicken peices, cooked with loving care on the premises and delicately spiced to an authentic carribean jerk style.
Battered king prawns ( tails on ) gently placed in an aquatic array and rested upon a shineing bright silver platter.
Golden crispy mini spring rolls, cooked to perfection and again rested peacefully apon a silver platter.
Potatoe wedges (skins on ) golden brown and briefly dusted with a sea salt & cracked black pepper dressing.
Perfectly cooked to a crisp & golden constituency, rings of onion in it's perfect jacket.
A selection of the finest bread available cut into an assorment of shapes and sizes ( crust off of course ) enveloping a selection of grated cheeses and delicately rested upon a carefully chosen selection of seasonal mixed leaves.
A selection of dipping enhancers was available for those of the more distinguished palets.
A selection of multi-coloured after dinner desert cakes carefully cut to precision and and relaxingly layered upon a platter in a building block array.
If this was'nt enough for the most famished, our resident chiefs were on hand to take and further orders from a huge and varied menu.
I wonder why our pool tables were left abandoned !
This is'nt just food,
This was The Better Halfs food. |

Rileys in Lewisham had a good idea yesterday, Slates came round with a list of baguettes, you picked the one you wanted and you got it with a bowl of chips each, very nice it was too. |

He was at Rileys PW last night and I think he saw the food come out and thought it was all his.
Katie has rustled up enough grub to feed an army and apparently there was a good spread but we didn't see any of it and had to order extra once the lions had finished off the main kill. |

Disappointed to see The Gun is missing from the poll, they have made some truly incredible food for us this season and it would be nice if they got the recognition for it. There are some venues in the poll who serve some real crap in comparison. No offence to the Farley, it's all relative... |

Site team, please add The Gun and Two Halfs to the poll. Also I don't see the point having an 'Other' option without being able to specify who.
I took the Farley off my final list as no one actually recommended them and I didn't think they were interested, but I see they have two votes! Who's voting? Simon Cowell??? |

Nice to see people complimenting the food at their away venues. This is what its all about!
A bit surprised there have only been 21 votes in almost 2 weeks but perhaps people are waiting to sample more venues before they vote.
Remember, you have to log in to vote, and the poll is on the left side of the home page.
Happy munching... |

Yeah I agree, think this poll would have been better utilised nearer the end of the season... |

Shame, I got you to add the Gun but i'd already voted for "other" so now i cant vote again!
I would normally vote for someone else's venue but I've been really impressed with them this season. Consider this post a plus one in thier column |

The View has won this poll with 35% of the votes, the closest venue to it was Rileys Ladywell with 4 votes
Would be good to propose a trophy for the best overall venue in the league at the next meeting
Factors to be included could be
1) Standard of food
2) Venue atmosphere
3) Standard of table(s)
4) Service from staff
This would be a way of the venues becoming more involved in the league as they would have their own trophy
Trophies could be voted on at divisional level, or for the entire league |
