I can't speak for Hughie myself, but I beleive these are SQUAD trials.
If someone were to excel, Hughie may decide that he wants them in the A team for the season.

The A's had a great year in 2010, but ultimately failed in our quest for the double due to having quite a light squad in terms of strength in depth.
If our strongest team were availiable all year, I have little doubt we'd have won the league aswell as the cup.
So I think Hughie will be wanting to address that, and make sure we have a bit of back up for cover, so there is potentially spots in the A team to play for.

What I will say to anyone curious and wanting to get involved is to know what commitment is expected from you.
The thing we don't want is loads of keen players turn up, qualify, but then walk away early in the season as they didn't realise what was involved.

The fixtures are played on Sunday evenings.
27 frames (3 X 9) on 2 tables.
They start at 7:15pm, and on average take between 2 and 2 1/2 hours.
Our home venue is Suzys, both A's and B's.
Some of the away venues are a good trek.
Godalming, Guildford, and Aldershot this year I believe. . .
Best part of an hour these, sometimes more to get to / from.

If you can make these, you'll be rewarded with a very high level of pool, this being the level between club pool and County pool.
It's a very competetive league, with all the best players in the County participating, so you'll be pitting your wits against strong players every time.
Well worth doing if you want to take your game to that next level and test yourself against better oppo.

Give Knocky a wild card.... he shouldn't need to qualify!!! ( Just my opinion!) Too many average players make it through qualifying. :censored:

A Massive thankyou to everyone who made the effort.

For those that were unsucessful, my advice would be keep trying.

I am personally going to miss the chaps from last season but on the same breath welcome the new guys.

Hopefully the new season will be just as enjoyable and successful.......Bring it on.
