So are the A's & B's combining or is it just the B team that has entered the league?

Looking at the Surreypool website the interleague may well be in its last few season :(

How can you not enjoy an evening in the presence of Mr Hersey!

From last years team, Eddie, Met, Sean, Wiggy and Ray Scott didn't want to play. Tom wasnt bothered either way so we wouldn't have got a team.

Only Billy and Nick Pool said they definately wanted to play, and I presume Mark Miller would do but didn't respond. If Steve wants anyones phone numbers ill give them to him, and I am sure the ex A Team players will help out in the unlikely event that they are short.

I wish Steve the currently squad and any additons all the best for the forthcoming season.

Is there not gonna be a trial or anything? I know graham thompson stopped playing London county to play for croydon and he's been playing county 20 years plus

It seems a shame their will be no A team.

I know it's time sensitive but the players that would play for the A's or trial for Croydon need to get together to get something sorted.

There's plenty of players in Croydon to do 2 teams , speak with Steve pantony and try and sort something , I'm sure he'll help as it seems like the b team will way too many players!

Firstly, if croydon were to get another team it needs to be done asap due to fixtures etc already being done i believe by the person whos in charge of all that stuff looking at the surreypool site?

Secondly, due to the B's having one of their best season last year and a good team spirit i think it would be unfair on the A team players (being better players) walking straight into the team. I appreciate it will strengthen the squad but all the B players who turned up each week last season may also turn up home and away this season and could have the chance of not playing.

I suppose it all boils down to someone wanting to run the A's and people wanting to turn up each week and play which always seems to be an issue for the A team....

Thoughts anyone?

Unless someone comes forward and agrees to take control of the other side then u r going to have 1 team with about 20 players!
What if Steve can oversee the running of the 2 sides? Not sure if its too much work work but if he had an asst then I'm sure it'll be fine.

Something should be done, I enjoyed playing interleague last year and wanted to play it again this year. I'm sure met told me the other day he wouldn't mind being captain. there we go sorted?

I have no interest in captaining Croydon !
What's the point in captaining a side that never turns up to Yarmouth ? We play all year and make nationals to then have everyone bomb out of going!
Bunter - your bad for this. You play all season to get to Yarmouth only then to tell us u can't make Yarmouth!

unfortunatly i have to agree with met on this one.and on the small amount of times that the a team did go to yarmouth it turned out to be a massive piss up and out early so whats the point.(very sad)
the b team might not be the best but at least they give it there all.

:wall:as for graham thompson quitting london to play for croydon, perhaps steve could find a place for him in the team as im sure graham would go to yarmouth if the team manage to get there, its just a pity that with all the talent that our league has that we have not entered an A team.:sigh:

Firstly, as for Graham quitting London, he has not had a conversation with me with regard to joing Croydon, and if he hadn;t with Steve either, then I cant really accept any responsibility for that one.

I agree with it being sad and all that but the truth is that you cant force players to play.

We have the following:-

Met (limited time had a choice (IL or County)
Sean (as above)
Wiggy (Works in Milton keynes)
Eddie (Doesn't want to play Sundays anymore)
Tom (Working out where his c**k is)
Mev (Couldn't commit to all games, and wouldn't want to go to Yarmouth (in general)
Graf (Didn't play due to baby/marriage)
Ray Scott (Did us a big favour last year but didn't want to play this)

There are many other players Jacko for example that simply do not wish to play, which is of course perfectly acceptable. There are also a few players that either play for London or Kent that dont qualify for interleague for that reason.

I am sure there are many other people that would play, but I simply am not prepared to beg players to play if they dont want to, and taking that list away from things plus a few more that also havent voiced an interest, and adding 5-8 new players, we would be the B Team anyway.

Perhaps a year away will refocus the mind, and I do feel for the likes of Nick Pool, and Billy (though I could strangle him at times) who did want to play this year.

Croydon still exists at that is the main thing.
