Things did not go our way last night. At 3-2 up our player thought he had an extra shot and pot the black. Say no more. An enjoyable night and lets hope we play better next week with the pond closing in.well pl:wall:

Good win for us against the Flying Machine. Very nice bunch of lads. Look forward to meeting them again in the summer five a side competition. The Dukes were 4-2 up against the Legion when we left. Our division is becoming like the football Championship-bottom team can beat the top . Are nerves playing a part in the run-in ? I hope that we can avoid losing 7-0 next week in parrotland !! :lol:

Scott, does the parrot give a forecast every week ? What's his success rate ? I'm worried about the bird getting involved !! I am seriously considering contacting the RSPCA to check the legality !! We have never encountered such tactics before. You are obviously very concerned about playing against us !! To help us concentrate, could the parrot please be put outside in the car park whilst the match is in progress. He can keep an eye on our hub-caps !! :bite:

The parrot is normally right in his predictions! However, at the moment he is not feeling to well and has a cold. I have been informed that it might be bird flu!
He's looking forward to you visiting and he has told me that he bites as well as you Pat!
Come on you Gunners!!

Legion 3-4 Dukes
To be honest we didn't do that much wrong last night. The Dukes played very well. Maybe one of the frames we lost could have gone our way for a 4-3 win, but no complaints about the defeat really.
The Addicts have had 2 tough games in the last 2 weeks also, the Pond & the the Warbamk away are not easy games.

British Legion 119 (Maple tree (A), Addicts (H)
The Addicts 115 (Magnum force (H), Legion (A)
Pond 108 (Warbank (A), Coach & Horses (A)
The Warbank 100 (Pond (H), Magnum force (A)
Magnum Force 94 (Addicts (A), Warbank (H)
London slates 91 + result (Mannor (H), Flying Machine (A)
Flying Machine 89 (Coach & Horses (A), London (H)
Pawleyne 77 + Result (Farley Dukes (A), Maple tree (H)
Coach & Horses 75 + Result (Flying Machine (H), Pond (A)
The Manor 68 + Result (London Slates (A), Farley Dukes (H)
Farley Dukes 62 (Pawleyne (H), The Manor (A)
The Maple tree 62 (Legion (H), Pawleyne (A)
Massive game for the Warbank & Pond next week, if the Warbank can get a 5-2 win, that will make them 107 & the Pond 110, if the Warbank can then follow that with a good win Away to the Magnum Force........Who Knows. Any win for the Pond at the Warbank & the top 3 are done & dusted.
We are still top after 2 defeats in a row, we need to get back to winning ways next week to give us the advantage going into the Final game against the Addicts, although they have a tough game against the Magnum Force also.
If its decided that 4 go up from Div 2 this year because of the Drillers folding, it looks to be between The Warbank, London Slates & The Magnum Force for 4th place with the Warbank & Magnum Force playing each other last game of the season .
It looks like the Farley Dukes win against us was too little too late, as they look to be down with the Maple Tree & probably the Manor.
I think thats a better summary then Pats normal rubbish ;)

Pat, is obviously worried hence no updated tables since they have gone above us!
The parrot must be taking its toll on Pat.

I have been a little quiet over the last few days because my computer was sent to Poland to be
repaired. Unfortunately there was nobody in that country who could fix it as they're all over here. Nevertheless it has been returned to me and appears to be functioning adequately !! Mr Brookers summary is 1st class.I couldn't have put it any better myself,so I wont !! Golden's bitching about the tables in Suzys is true, but look at the improvement in our form. The more tables we have, the better we are !! I did object to the Eagles having four tables when they didn't even play out of the venue. Unfortunately they have now fcuked me by joining the Suzys revolution, albeit temporarily !! I think that the next step in our aim of world domination is to obtain a cockatoo to rival the Warbank's parrot !! We first have to make sure than Dan accepts that it isn't there for him to eat .It must be explained to him that it is only a pet !!

Scott-What happened when the Addicts player got down to pot the black ,wrongly thinking that he had another shot ? Did nobody tell him that his visit had finished ? I would have told him,if I were refereeing ! :hanged:

schoolboy error!!
he took his shot so quickly even their players didnt have time to tell him!

Is there any rule for coaching in Pool, like in Tennis?
I mean officially, is there any rule that if your team mate is about to break the rules like this, that stops you from shouting out?

You're not suposed to say anything. Not that it stops Ricky, mind you.

What section/number of rule does that come under - anyone know?

For those interested I've found it...
Section 12. Standard Fouls.
Coaching:- During a frame, a player is required to play without receiving any advice from other persons relating to the playing of the frame. Should a team member or bona-fide supporter of a player offer advice, the referee will issue a "First and Final Warning" to that person that a repetition will result in the player being penalised via a Standard Foul.
Because it may not always be possible for the Referee to hear if a statement made to a player is advice, the referee may issue the First and Final Warning on the grounds that any statement made to a player, other than general barracking, is deemed to be coaching.
In a tournament setting, a First and Final warning may be given once only, before the commencement of the day's play as a block warning to all players and spectators

The parrot should have been trained to warn offending players. He's got sod all else to do once the match has started.

So according to the above rule, someone could have shouted out then, because only a repitiion would be a foul after a "first & final warning".
