For all those teams that failed to furbish me with their entries for the forthcoming season then its XMas time come early for you. Because everybody has to play in the first rounds (no BYES) due to the newly formed PLATE Comps then I have decided to allow a further maximum of

a - 82 entries into the SINGLES KO
b - 40 entries into the DOUBLES KO
c - 30 entries into the TEAM KO CUP
d - UnlimIted for LADIES KO

be advised that these further entries will be drawn against each other (excluding Ladies) to be added onto the already drawn fixtures. If this results in you playing your Team Mates then its tough luck. I will need details of any further entries by no later than FRIDAY 23rd MAY

The new players/teams entered will just replace the byes so no redraw required Jamie.

As Mark has said, to fill the byes, team mates may well end up playing eac other, or a person or team who had a bye initially (i.e. is not shown on the sheets Mark sent out), may not have a bye after the new players/teams get added to the draw

Im sure Mark will post details of where in the draws the new players/teams end up when he has worked it all out

Hope thats about right Mark?

Paul, there is no BYES in the 1st rounds of all comps. All entries will play. BYES will appear in the 2nd round of the comps and 1st rounds of the PLATE comps for those rounds only. The KO comps will not be a mockery as they were in the Winter League for last season. The added entries will play EACH OTHER and not any of the original entries.

I have been unable to set up a new thread so I am using this old one so ignore all above and read below

The 2014 Summer League has currently 30 accepted teams and 3 reserve teams, 5 Down, BLC Boshers and Another View that has paid their full subscription fees which is being held on file awaiting any further late teams (possible 4 with One Player Short’s application form and fee being awaited). Should no futher teams apply by Saturday 19th April then I would like to hear views about the Summer League being increased to 12 teams per division with a BYE in each. The problem that this will cause is that 4 extra weeks would have to be found in the playing calendar and until I know what numbers are going to be entered into the KO competitions then it is hard at this stage to know where to find these 4 extra dates. What I do know is that at some stage 2 league matches would have to be also played on a Monday night as well as the normal Tuesday (as we do have 2 natural Tuesday dates that are free before the 2014/15 Winter League starts) and to find these extra Mondays I could find those 2 by holding all KO & Plate finals on the same night. Would you be happy for me to jostle around the fixture lists once I become aware of the numbers involved within the KO comps. The double up league matches would be Mon 15th & 22nd September.

In a perfect world Danny I would agree not to have Byes but we don't live in a perfect world and on 36 teams its either 12 per division with no Byes or 4 divisions of 10 with one bye in each ..... We have 33/34 at the mo so its looking at 12 per division with one Bye in each other than Div.1 if One Player Short comes through then that will be a full 12 and all the above being acceptable to the majority as I've only 3 positive views with zero negative views
