It has nothing to do with saving money Andy. I do not get paid for running these competitions and would not expect to. I run these competitions as a way for people who dont normally get to go into competitions, a chance to enter one for free. Rileys are kindly hosting the competition for no charge to the league.

Merging the 2 divisions on the same day was based on an idea from Hannah, and agreed with by me, partly due to turnout concerns and partly due to a busy calendar for Rileys in June. The decision was taken based on the divisional competitions turnout alone, nothing to do with the Scotch Doubles which from memory was started due to a small field in the competition.

However, Sass mentioned about the fact that division 5 had one of the best turnouts I thought I would just double check

Division 2 - 32 Players
Division 3 - 30 Players
Division 4 - 29 Players
Division 5 - 19 Players

The division 5 turnout was still low compared to the other divisions but not as low as I originally thought.

In light of this are people in division 5 willing to wait for their competition? June 28th, provided this does not clash with interleague. Alternatively, I could check with Hannah and see if 26th April is available. The competitions do not have to be run in order.

If people are in agreement with either of these dates, and there is good turnout from the Floozies, there is nothing preventing a Mixed Scotch Doubles comp being run at the same time. The Mixed Scotch Doubles competition could be advertised seperatly and players from other divisions allowed to enter as well. There are several women who play in other divisions, such as division 4
