No Croydon teams this time round but here's the latest for the teams that I'm aware contain CDPL players . . .

Round Robin

St Johns 3 - 15 Tolworth
Preston South 9 - 9 Frank Smith

Surrey Warriors, Tolworth II and Rochester are all the 2nd match on in their respective groups.

Rochester won their first match 11-7.

If they win their group, they play Trent Trophies in the last 32. . . .

Frank Smith are through to the last 32 having smashed Redditch 16-2 in their 2nd match.

Tolworth look on course to make it through their group.

Tolworth II are up against it having lost 11-7 to Cambridge Elite who lost to Sun Valley by the same score.

Surrey Warriors won their first match 10-8. They just need a win against High Wycombe to progress.

Are Leicester still in? They are a very good team

Yeh Leicester are still in.

Frank Smith have Leeds in the quarters. I understand that Darren Appleton is now playing for them having served his interleague ban. Good side but I think Frank Smith are better.

Tolworth have Chorlton who I know absolutely nothing about

Yeah Frank Smith have quality players, they won a few years back as Imperial 1, think they have a similar team this time around

Frank Smith v Tolworth or Leicester would make a good final although no idea of the draw!

Who won the Nationals in the end? Joe got to the quarters again this year

Rochester lost 10-8 to Trent Trophies A in the Last 32 . . Our man had a double on the black to force the playoff but it didn't go and the rest is, as they say, history!

I had the pleasure of my two frames being against the current World Champion Gareth Potts and the current England Captain Lee Kendall . . It was enlightening to say the least

The National Amateur Singles were won by Carl Morris, who Joe narrowly lost out to by 7 frames to 5 in the Quarter-Finals.

Massive effort by the alien - well done!!

Frank Smith and Tolworth were the beaten semi finalists losing to Trent Trophies and Weston A respectively. Trent Trophies won it.

Well done to both Region 7 Teams.

And well done to Rochester, who appear to be the only team throughout the whole day to have given Trent Trophies a challenge.

Dean Cole was a couple of inches away from forcing a playoff :(

To give you an idea of the standard, the playoff would have been Kendall/Potts/Davies v Hubbard/Kettel/Church . . Just the 6 pros then
