In one of my frames tonight, my opponent went in-off giving me ball-in-hand. I asked the referee if it was a foul snooker assuming he would move the white around the baulk area before making a decision. But instead he insisted that I placed the white so he could check from the position I had put it in.

If a player has ball-in-hand and asks if it is a foul snooker, what is the correct protocol for both the player and the referee?

Regards,
Charles Burrows.

Haha hilarious, great ref,if you have ball in hand then the ref must check whether there is any place behind the line where it would not be a foul snooker, obviously presuming you had asked for 1...
