It is with sadness that I have to report the recent passing away of our former Chairman / Treasurer, Geoff Glass. Geoff held office from the late 1970's until the 2004/5 season before standing down due to ill health. Funeral arrangements will be notified at a later date.

Geoff was the originator of the now defunct Boshers team back in 2004 when a load of us were drinking in the Crown. Also when the Crown was closed down, in an instant he moved us to the Beechtree where we had a great time too. He was a gentlemen, a quality person and I will say it, one of Croydon Pool Leagues Legends! :).

He did so much for this league and I want to say thank you on behalf of not only myself, but all beechtree and crown players he'll be sorely missed

On an unpool related note, he was a member of the West Beck for a while, and taught/took some money off the younger lads in the team at crib.

He has cost me hundreds now by teaching me the bloody game!

Having just returned home from the service it was sad to see just 11 people paying their last respects to Geoff which included 4 from the League community being myself, Bob Todd, Peter Brooks and Jeff Martensz. There will be a minutes silence conducted before the AGM starts on Wednesday night and when I give my treasurers report then I'll begin with a line that Geoff always used in his time as treasurer and that is "The balance sheet is self explanatory"
