This is to advise that JOHN HERSEY has been given a life ban today from this League and I believe also that the Redhill & Reigate have done the same. This is for his actions at the home of Gary Swettenham which has been widely viewed on Facebook and this has been done with the full endorsement of this Leagues committee. However, he is entitled to an appeal which I believe he is considering doing at the Winter League's AGM on August 30th.

Don't think you needed to ban john as he will probibly not find a team that will wañt him in their side.
I have talked to him and he says he's lost everything.including his girlfriend and child..
We all know what he did was bang out of order but we all know John's a simple man and he probibly never play in our league again.
What I disaģree with is that some peopĺe out there want to see him hurt..not right
Think John's been punished enough.

Appreciate your comments Chris and everyone has a right to an opinion but nevertheless we had a problem with him back in 2007 over stolen cues and feelings are running high with his latest antic. I lost my dad some 8 years ago but that did not cause me to cross a line that he did to Gary so taking him out of the playing arena should help stop any future problems that may occur at pool matches that he may have played in. I've had a few calls from players saying they would not play in the same team and as an inter-league captain I have to take that on board.

John Hersey has appealed his ban in writing which has been received today so this will be heard by the membership at the Winter League AGM on Wednesday 30th August.

In crayon :D:? Don't think this has anything to do with our league does it ? He's clearly a wrong un but we've turned a blind eye to drug taking, violence and we have a murderer serving time who is probably not barred so how can we bar a thief unless it's on a pool night? Let the powers that be deal with it not us..

Strange 1 ain't it Chris as he should be made unwelcome by 1 n all so nobody will sign him so he can't play but to actually bar him is a bit embarrassing when we let coke heads, cheats ,violent offenders n even murderers still be part of our league, over kill on a thief ... hilarious

If there is any particular issue you wish to raise please address it to the committee in writing.

Thank you.

I'd like to raise with the committee that John H should have been banned from interleague only (that's in writing). If anyone wants to second that, please can the commitee consider at next opportunity............ I frankly don't like the precedent that has been set here, even though I have lots of sympathy with Gary.

Hi. This is not the official website of Croydon League. If you want to raise a proposal it needs to be made it in writing by a team secretary(with a seconder) to Mark Halsey ahead of the next general meeting (think its February).

OK. Guess it is up to the secretary's then.
