On Sunday 20th July 2008, The Thomas Farley Will be hosting a small Pool Comp to raise money to pay for a bouncey castle for kids at a local community summer fate. We are limiting it to 32 players, first come first served basis and the entry price is ?5. One frame knockout, best of 3 in the final. ?50 for winner only.

The 16 first round losers will have the chance to play in a plate comp, entry ?1,
...yes ?1, same format, one frame knockout, best of 3 in final, ?25 for winner only.

The 8 first round losers from the plate will then have a further chance to redeem themselves in a single game of 'Killer', entry ?1...yep a squid, winner ?10.

Ladies & Gentlemen please support this event, we need @ ?150 for the bouncey castle, and to add to the pot a sin-bin will be on display for coinage of any value when you lose a frame, foul or simply want to place loose change.

Please contact Betty or Dave at the Farley for your entry or myself, Paul Picton of the Farley Loyalists, 0791 991 4452

I would like to invite The Imperials, as long standing friends of mine,
also The Ship who we became very good freinds with playing in the same div last season, and a personal invite from me to Mark Stannard of the Goodfellas, who I may have Caused a teeny weeny bit of grief in the last couple of weeks.

So there it is Sunday 21st july 2008, The Thomas Farley, Pool Comp

FOR CHARITY (any funds remaining will be sent to Cancer Research)

Regards

Thank you to all that have already but their names down at the Pub, or phoned me.
It seems that the comp will be full within days, and we may have to give a priority to who enters and who will have to miss out! I would love to think that we could up the numbers to 64, but this may be so time consuming (even with one frame) that it is just not practical, real shame though!

The registration is at 13:00 at the bar, mines a 'Fosters Top' for a 13:30 Start

Please turn up if you have asked for your name to be put down, it would be a shame to lose money for this, as you may be keeping some-one out that would have turned up!!

Remember this is a 'fun...d' raising event.

Rainbow

Right, where were we...oh yes...The Farley has kindly agreed to free tables for all the games of the comp. We really do need a full 32 which seems easily filled presently, but please even if you dont make the final 32, how about turn up anyway for a little support....and put some coinage in the bucket!! Lol.

Mr graham Witt is to be added to the invite list along with Richard (Harry) Morley who I have known for an extremley long time in this league.

Get your names down Ladies & Gentlemen, it will be a 'Fun...d' day!

Cheers mate,

I would love to say that I would definately come down, but it is my birthday "weekend" and I may be going away for a couple of days.

However, if I don't I will show my ugly mug and slip a few coins in the bucket.

I will still give you something towards it, even if I don't show up.

All the best with it, I hope it goes well and you make "loadsamoney"

Rainbow, may I please ask why you're paying out £10 in a killer competition which will have 8 entrants at £1 entry each?

I'm only asking as to whether this is an oversight by yourself, as i'm sure you want as much money as possible to go towards your final total.

This is a serious question, so no seemingly clever answers are needed from the challenged, thanks.

I did think that myself but then decided that it was ?2 and not ?200 so assumed that the organiser or venue was prepared to chuck a few quid into the competition to encourage people to enter.

At £1 to enter with all profits going to a good cause, you'd hope a £5 prize fund with the extra £3 going towards the bouncy castle would be enough to encourage the 8 players to part with their shiny quid . . . !!

i was asked about this tonight for places and said to contact you paul ,but i suspect all 32 placces have been filled,if so i told them to attend anyway:winking:

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Please Hear now, The Great Dave of The Thomas Farley has allowed the comp to go to 64, this means we can hopefully raise a massive amount for 'the bouncey castle' and the cheque for 'Cancer Relef'

We were fairly sure that people would loose intrest after their one frame Knock-Out, their will still be a 'Sin-Bucket' on display for all the 'not winners', (seems a shame to say loosers) and this in itself usally raises a tidy sum. We're not after lots & lots of dough, just enough to cover a bouncey castle. This seems almost paid for in entrance fees alone, so hopefully a massive check now for Cancer Research also. Hope this answers any questions.

This comp is for all, numbers have been a bit up in the air recently. Please come along and support this, the bouncey castle is for local children in the area, and after the amount of grief lately in the news about knives and stabbings a little good could go along way.

Appreciate the invite, although I am unable to make it on Sunday. Don't worry, it's nothing to do with cue balls and certainly nothing personal, just got something else going on.
Hope it goes well.
