8pm

So . . Tonight's the night . . We've seen huge progression in the league with the introduction of both World Rules and a new 10 frame format . .

. . is it time to take another step forward or should the "tucked in by ten" brigade prevail?

Our team the warbank wish to vote in the 5x2 format but our secretary is away on holiday and no one else can attend this evening.

My question is that can i email mark with our vote or does a member of the team have to attend?

I'm pretty sure someone has to attend . .

Surely someone can turn up? You get a fine for not showing up without having made a prior apology . . .

You obviously do not know any of my team then!

Mark Harris has never attended one of the events as far as i am aware and cannot tonight as he is in sunny Florida.

I was going to represent the team tonight but due to family matters i now cannot attend.

I will email Mark to let him know so we may get away with not palying a fine for once!

So i take it the 5x2 format got the vote plus scotch doubles then?

Any ruling re: the 5x2 format i.e players playing twice in one set?

Plus anyone know what the majority vote was?

Happy Days....

It was 2 x 5, with no player playing twice in either of the 2 sets & no player to play the same opponent twice either.

No player to play more than 2 games per match & a minimum of 3 players to constitute a legal line up.

No Bonus points

It was voted in about 28 for and 7 against, the 7 wanting to revert back to the old 7 frame format.

Scotch doubles was voted in by about 20 for 15 against

The fact that both the 10 Frame Format and Scotch Doubles got voted in shows how broad minded the league has become . . Go back 5 years and we were playing 7 Frames of Old EPA after several unsuccessful attempts to get World Rules voted in . .

Glad to see, as a league, the majority remain united in their desire to continue to want to move Croydon pool in the right/positive direction. Good result last night for the pro 2x5 voters & the Scotch doubles scrapping in was an added bonus. :thumb:

Something to think about is the turnout at AGMs . . There were roughly 35(ish) people voting on the format but 55(ish) secretaries in the league which leaves 20 votes that weren't utilised . . There were only 7 people voting against the format yet there were far more who said they were against it . .

. . either they couldn't be bothered to turn up, get someone there on their behalf or just shied away from the vote . . 'You Snooze You Lose'

The people who care about this league turned up and made it count . .
