Well can't Mark go to Rileys and pay his money after today and whoever hasn't paid will be replaced. After all thats what the original post says.

There are exceptions, if you've told Mark you will pay on a certain date (ie. teach, miq), but if someone hasn't bothered paying on time, or contacted Mark, and MM pays before, then will they be replaced?

The vast majority of people have contacted me, one way or another, to let me know when they are paying the money in. The problem is with the few who haven?t as I know some of them do not use the website so may not know about the deadline, mainly due to me not being around to hassle them at Riley?s. I did send a PM to everyone on the list who uses the site and included a message to some to pass on to team mates. The original idea of booting everyone out after the deadline would have worked better (and easier) if I was around to enforce it and chase people up who don?t use the website.
For this reason, although the rule is there, I?m loathed to enforce it to the letter as I have not spoken with some of the people involved. It would be like me sending out a last minute change of playing day by text and kicking out those who didn?t turn up because I didn?t have their mobile number.

So far, I have not had confirmation of payment date from:

Premier
Francois Tertullien

Division One
Scott Bradwell

Division Two
Shane St.Romaine
Scott Slattery
Peter Knight

Peter Knight (Div 2) will definitely be paying his money tonight. I will definitely pay mine at lunchtime today.

I think Scott Bradwell has decided to pull out of the league, creating a spot in Div 1 for Mark Miller (I assume he will take it!). That should cheer Darren Porter up! Grin

All change again!

Scott WILL take his spot in Div 1 and I will be paying his money alongside mine today!! Darren Porter will just have to get bashed up by Scott instead!!

P.S. - Darren can't get on the web at the moment, so any cheap jokes at his expense will be greatly appreciated!! laughing laughing laughing

Ok, latest news.

Andy Telford has had to withdraw, which has created the aforementioned space for Mark Miller, so he?s in.

As I mentioned before, there are no flexible spaces left in the Premier but, even if there were, Mark was actually relegated from the Premier in CSL2, so it?s fair to put him in Div.1.
Mind you, I might eat my words after I?ve played him Grin

A CDPL Singles finalist? I don't think he will be that happy unless he just wants the money, but knowing Mark he would rather play at his standard.

Maybe in future leagues it could be seeded by your position in the singles league. That way you are (almost) guaranteed to play at your level.

There weren?t any more flexible spaces in the Premier anyway.

Maybe you?d be happy to play to keep your Premier spot, only to then be told "Sorry, mate, but someone else has entered and they?re better than you so you?re relegated anyway", but I know Mick Huggins wouldn?t be!

It?s impossible to please everyone, there?s always someone who should possibly be in a different division. If the players were the same every season, the standard promotion/relegation system would work perfectly but it doesn?t work like that when each season has different players involved.
If Mark plays as well as we know he can, he?ll be in the Premier again next season but this time round he?s division one.

Martin, I see your point, but you must be confident enough of beating anyone? Look at John Hoy, he will p!ss the bottom div guaranteed , no disrespect to the others. As Mark says there is no way of pleasing everyone...just win your games and happy days.Grin

I agree, it's a tough one. I have entered this comp to get my self some quality practice. There's no doubt that Mark is quality, so I'm looking forward to playing him, I just hope I don't embarrass my self too much.Sad

Thanks mate. I presume you mean me?
(of course, there's an outside chance you are referring to Mr.Miller)

Does that mean Mark Vincetn will go back up into Div 1? or will John Hoy go up?

I think by the sounds of it there will be chops and changes until the day before it starts. I seem to remember that was the case last time. I'm sure it depends on who gets there money in on time and so on. Anyway it all adds to the suspense regarding fixtures etc. winking
