I thought it was a good format with plenty of opportunity for surprises. It was well run and everyone in it was well behaved Wink and of a good standard. Thanks for organising it I really enjoyed the day. Roll on the next one.

Good bits: I thought that the comp did a really good job of introducing people that wouldn't have previously met- you only really talk to your mates or the people you are playing. It also means that even if you turn up and play as rubbish as I did then you still get a few matches which rocks... It also means less waiting around to play as the matches turn around quicker.

Bad bits: I turned up, it was downhill from there! Lowest point was getting beaten by everyone in my group! It's BigBastardDave from now on! He didn't even give me a chance! Wink

Things to improve: Cueing, shot selection and concentration...

On the hole the format was fine, understand it was a trial
maybe the group stage could have been over more frames
as three seemed to be short and sharp.
Thank god theres was a plate third in the group was not a good place.
Enjoyed the day even stayed to watch the final.
well done good comp. Do it again YES

i liked the format much better than a straight knock out comp. It was certainly value for money. Playing 15 frames for a fiver was a definite bonus.

I agree that the group stages could have been a bit longer, because the groups and tables were established straight away their was almost no delay between matches being played.

Maybe best of 5 next time, less fudging and more dishing. Smile

I certainly sign up for the next one. clapping

Maybe have an additional group stage, then knockout from last 16 onwards...

Also I know it was hard due to the fact that there were alot of croydon league players, but it would have been nice to play new faces as my group had 3 current croydon players and Marc Burnett who I know from croydon and from previous comps...

All in all, really did enjoy the day and would definately do it again...
