Goodfellas 5 Pond Wheatsheaf 6

Very tight encounter between two well matched teams. We were relieved to take the win from 4-2 behind. Good Luck to Mark and his side for the remainder of the season !! applause

Thanks Pat, for a lovely match report, although you missed out the bit where the friendly atmosphere of the game between old friends turned on a sixpence after you accused me of cheating on the clock (which you asked for despite some of your players being much slower than ours) right in the middle of a clearance which, had he not been interrupted by your accusation, Rob would ordinarily have finished. After that, everything got a bit bitter and silly but let's not go into that.

Well played, Sir, excellent gamesmanship. Shame we had enough players or you could have claimed some frames off us too.

Anyhow. Best of luck to the actual players in your team who showed true spirit and played the game like real gents and showed you up a tad for your acting so childishly in the first place.

Much love dancing

It was an interesting match last night Neil and I got to say that we did get a large amount of lady luck in certain frames that we won. I was dead and buried in both of my matches but silly mistakes by your players allowed me back in to finish off both but then you did have a gimme when Stevie Rains went in off the black. You have a good team there Neil but you need a bit of team spirit to get going because its allright signing a quality player in Leon Pope but he is not the sort of player you slate off if he misses a sitter. I did feel for one of the Lambert lads, who after missing the sitter black went on and attacked the ball on his next visit after a blinding safety from Stevie Rowlerson and if that had come off then you would have all been patting him on the back and singing his praises but he missed and was slated from a certain player in your side. I would have walked there and then if I had been him so if you want to keep quality players like Leon Pope then get your team spirit going. You need to look at Peter Porter's attitude towards the game as he is a credit to your side. In a nutshell m8, try enjoying the game a bit as well and I'm sure that you lot will go up after this consolidating season in Div.2

I couldnt agree more Mark. Neil you need to getting behind your players not slating them or you could find that they will leave. The Lambert boys are solid players and could of easily won all 4 of their frames. As for the luck I had well it was swings and roundabouts as you had the luck early in the frame. So promotion is now out of the window and so is the divisional singles boxer

Mark, I think that I had every right to be concerned about the time that the match was taking. It was nearly 10 o'clock by the finish of the first set. As I explained to you,our matches are normally done and dusted by this time. So I asked for the time clock to be introduced. After a short period, my players asked me to query what appeared to be the very generous time allowances from you. I wanted to inspect your time mechanism to ensure that it wasn't faulty. If this was a problem to you, then hard luck. We then had to listen to one of your very impressive number of team members shouting out other team's scores whilst our match was in progress. He appeared to be a little stunned that we had the audacity to ask for a modicum of decorum to prevail. Amazing !! So that is why I didn't state that it was an enjoyable match with old friends, because it wasn't, plain and simple !!

Flying Machine 4 v 7 Rack Pack

Good game - table a bit poo but same for both teams...

We were solid through out, Jim Joy on fire giving Flying Machine 3 of their 4 frames, otherwise margin could of been bigger...

Oh and great pizza!

Hope to see you guys around in the future!
