So a third league week on the spin gives all teams a chance to hustle for position for the psychological advantage of sitting pretty over the xmas break.
7 teams sit within a single victory (10 points of the top spot) in what has to be one of the most open starts to a season in years.
Here is how I see it going in this pivotal final fixture before xmas:
Patriots Vs Unpredictables
Much will depend on the starting line up for the Unpredictables and as long as they don't go in with the bare 5 they have a team that can challenge any team. The Patriots will be gutted at the two losses to their closest rivals and really need to bury matches like this to be considered serious title contentenders. Unpredictables will be buoyed by an unlucky result against the Cuemasters and a hammering on the Imps last week. Patriots will have too much and will run out 7-3 winners.
Eden Vs Eagles
The Eden cause took a massive turn in the right direction last week with a run against form win against the Prop. Thier first win of the season against the league leaders was closely followed by a dissapointing league cup exit at the hands of the unfancied wandering Dogs. The Eagles seem to be going from strength to stength in all competitions after going thru in the Knockout, topping the league and cruising their league cup group. The Eagles brushed aside a previously unbeaten Cuemasters side in what has been described as the match of the season to date. In this kind of form it is hard to see anything other than a resounding Eagles win. This is exactly how the Eden like it though and I don't think this will be a big win but a 6-4 Eagles win none the less.
Forum A V Propeller
The Forum A need to start pulling some results together to avoid being cast adrift in the drop zone with the Imps and Pot Luck however the Propeller will be keen to get back to winning ways after a dissapointing result to the Eden last week. Prop having been nailing fixtures like these so far this season and I don't see that changing. 8-2 Prop
Jolly V Hot Shots
Jolly have proved a match for the likes of the Eagles this season and it is well documented the home advantage factor. Hot shots with another convincing win last week will be seeking a big result to keep them in touch with the top spot. Jolly in a massive third place after their 10-0 win at the Pot Luck last week. If they can win tonight they will start to dream of champions league. Hot Shots 6 -4 winners
Imperials V Warbank
At the other end of the table we have a basement battle. Warbank most notably have beaten the Hot Shots to prove they are more than capable of producing performances when it matters but the fact is to stay in thei division it is they key matches at the bottom that will decide on your status for next season. Imperials yet to get a notable result MUST win some matches like this to have any kind of chance of staying up. Still know very little about the Imps but the Warbank have quality - Warbanks 7 -3 winners
CueMasters V Pot Luck.
Te simple fact is that anything less than a 10-0 will be a dissapointing result so concentration is the order of the day and on current form it should be no problem. The Pot Luck guys target for the season is simple. record a win in any competition before the end of the season and fair play to them for keeping chugging along. The Cuesmasters will be targeting being just 2 or 3 points of the lead going in to the break and along with the Eagles are the only remaining unbeaten side. 10- 0 Cuesmasters
Ho Ho Muther Truckin Ho. I am again abroad but looking forward to a team Christmas dinner at the newly transformed Coney....Turkey twizzlers here we come!
