Game postponed from 30th Nov...

Seamen 6-4 Farley Dukes

The Dukes always seem to get the best of our encounters, and by some margin...even if they haven't deserved it...lol

So when the first frame went against us, I thought the writing was on the wall, especially as we had a touch of bad luck...second frame looked lost too, but a second chance saw the scores levelled....third frame sealed with a fantastic double on the black, then the fourth with a great pressure pot when the cue ball was on the cushion...a solid clearance in the fifth saw a 4-1 halfway lead..already more frames than usual!!!

6th looked lost too, until an unlkely clearance put us 5-1 up...and then the wheels fell off and normal service was resumed...lol...a missed clearance gave the dukes one back, and over cautious play cost the 8th....a good clearance gave the match win in the 9th, and a rearguard battle saw the dukes make the scoreline respectable...no complaints here....we actually won!!!!

Apologies for no food...I found out later that our provider left his phone behind, and therefore didn't get the message that we needed it tonight...

Interesting Secretary's game...it finished with 7 reds and 7 yellows on the table, black in the pocket, and cue ball on the floor!!!

Great night with Bannister's boys, as always...3 wins on the bounce for us (unheard of!!!), but they're gonna want revenge!!! lol....

Beechtree Revolution 7 - 3 Stelfs

First game of 2011 and off to a flyer but a great win for us Grin and a good laugh as always with the guys from Wallington.

Started well going 3-0 up, two good finishes in the first two and a huge slice of fortune with their guy cannoning the black in game 3. Game 4, we rattled a black and their guy finished, and a good finish put us 4-1 at the break.

4-2, 5-2, 6-2 Stelfs pulled one back then MJ with his second win of the night getting us the 7-3 win. Still a decent relegation scrap to get out of but this will help us a lot winkgrin

Great laugh with the Stelfs, catch ya later in the season at yours handshake

Seamen 6 - Dukes 4

Not quite sure what bad luck you refer to in the 1st, I thought I was unlucky not hitting the cushion twice on the s-l-o-w-e-s-t table ever, and deserved the win (unbiased assessment :lolSmile. Anyway, apart from that your guys played brilliantly in the 1st half, some terrific shots to win close games, so definitely a fair scoreline. 2nd half started with a good 2/2 for me, but then we fell apart, special mention for Peter Brooks who really deserved to win his game. Look forward to our next encounter, no problems re the food, all us lot need to lose weight anyway Grin
