Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble getting onto the Croydon Pool website lately? Seems to be running seriously slow.

I have not noticed any difference myself, but I will investigate with the hosting company
Before I do that, can people tell me the following?
1) What browser is it particularly slow with? I.e. Internet Explorer?
2) Is it slow only via mobiles?
3) Did the site become noticeably slower after the changeover to winter?
I may remove some of the content from the home page and show less threads, I think that could speed the site up, I can also reduce how much gets previewed when hovering over a thread |

Just delete the account " Neil " and it will go faster his post is useless and utterly crap.

Mobile ( iPhone ) is also very slow

The site should be faster now
It is hosted on a shared server. Another site on the server was hogging all of the resources. That site has been moved off onto a different server now
I have culled the front page now, although not yet reduced the length of preview text, want to see if its better for people now first. |

I access the site via Safari on an iMac and it seems to be back to a good speed now.
It had been very slow for 3 weeks or so for me. Good that it's back to normal again. |

Its currently being moved onto a new server so should be even faster by Monday
Would people prefer to have more threads visible on the front page or for the previews to be longer when hovering over a thread?
Once the move is complete I can look at doing one of those changes, or can just leave it |
