Rileys Misfits 4-7 Penge Con Boys

An epic night really....having started on time, the third frame was finished after 9.30....so a late finish was always on the cards...

4-1 up at halfway, and it could have been 5-0, we were dreaming - our matches are always close, but given that they have new (good) players, we were very pleased.

Misfits were 2 points ahead before we started, so a win was imperative to keep at the top end of the table...4-1 became 5-1, 5-2, then 6-2....then 6-3 and 7-3...

Must make a special mention for the 11th frame...having potted a ball off the break, our player nominated, but was not heard (it was quite noisy). Very sportingly, James Curtis agreed to carry on without taking the two shots he could rightfully have claimed. He went on to win the frame, but that's not the point. The last time we played there, there was (ahem) a bit of a debate...thank you very much for letting a sporting approach prevail!!

Have a great Christmas guys, and good luck (until we meet again..lol..)!!

Big winners tonight...James Curtis and Roy Shilling for 2/3, not forgetting Danny Wordley and Trevor Payne for 2/2...

Woodside Wallies 5-6 Beechtree Boshers

A win to sign off 2012 was a excellent night Grin Very much an game that ebbed and flowed as we went 1-0 to 2-1 up, ended the first set 3-2 down, went 4-3 up, found ourselves 5-4 down and won the last two to snatch it 6-5 winking

Mentions to myself for 4/4 last night. Though it was an excellent team display full of spirit. We butchered a number of chances as did the Woodside. Draw would have been the fair result.

Excellent bunch the Woodside, Lynne, Mark, Waynie and Co, good luck for the remainder of the season, and we'll catch you at ours in 2013 handshake

Last words: Merry Xmas to one and all from all at the Boshers!! winkgrin

View 4 - 7 Langley sports

A nice bunch of lads but i must say that is the worst place to play pool. Its small, cold, no music and the table is awful which means you have to stay there longer. Just as well they only had 4, we were appreciative of the 2-0 headstart although i dont think the other teams in the league would've been....

Played at Langley sports club a few times not sure I'd be knocking other venues if I was a regular there Pfft

I agree mate, it's rubbish at Langley. You can feel your toes, the cushions all react the same, they put some English footy on the tv and you can't sit on people's laps while you're playing your shot. They should kick us out the league really. It's a right waste of time bringing your two piece cue along as we'll because you never have to take your cue apart to take a shot down there. How boring.

I remember going to the Langley once - an old lady nearly lost the life that she had clinged to for many years. Warm - methinks not violin
