An enjoyable night, as always, with Paul's team...at 3-1 down I was worried we were going to have a bad night, but a run of four frames put us in the driving seat to seal the win.
Two myths which were dispelled tonight....
1. Paul Saxton is a safety player - he won his first frame without playing a single safety shot, and cleared up very well.
2. I can't clear up - in the final frame I dished from a dry break.
Our matches are always close, hard fought, but with a sporting attitude prevailing, and both teams know each other well....the return match to finish the season is something I am looking forward to...
Big win for us last night to round off the half way point in the league programme
Flattering score if truth be told. Took the first, scrappy, took the second, big clearance. Lost game 3, scrappy, lost 4 when we went in off the black. Won 5 well.
Second set, we hit a whitewash but game 6 was where the oppo missed a straight black and white went in, game 8, oppo missed a straight black, but we managed to take 9-11 with good clearances.
Win doubles for Shane and Myself, Zoe unbeaten on the right but MOM was Dave S with a treble
Good bunch of lads the Jolly Sailor with David and co, good luck for the remainder of the season and we'll see on matchday 18 Fortune Favours the Brave...
