A good night, played in a friendly atmosphere, in a cold pub!!!
The View raised a full 5 this time, and in all fairness, the match was very much in the balance after 5 frames, but taking 5 of the last 6 saw us home comfortably. Not that any frame was clear cut - there were a good few scraps, and lady luck threw a few curveballs in for both sides, too.
Good performances on both sides, but mention of the night must go to the living legend, Peter Brooks for 2/2....not often he gets to play twice, and he deserved both!
As usual, good food at the View, which was devoured pretty quickly!!!
Bit of an erratic display by us last night but that's not to take any thing away from our hosts who managed to control the elements better and fully deserved their win last night
Lost the first set 3-2 and when we brought it back to 3-3 I thought we'd kick on but the Lodgers run off the remaining 4 before we took game 11 for our final score. The one positiive about this match was were home in five minutes The match winning shot, a reverse double .....which hit the knuckle and should have landed maybe on the cushion, maybe mid table...but...Tiger Woodseque curled perfectly into the middle bag.
Excellent win for Penge who've closed the gap we had on them by 4 points with two games remaining.
Quality bunch the Lodgers, Saxton et all, good luck for the remainder of the season Fortune Favours the Brave...
