In a nut shell Ben more frames got discussed even heard talks that 13 frames was pretty much gonna happen until all the boring people moaned and got such a new exciting season ahead of us with no changes still 11 boring frames it's a liberty if u ask me what's wrong with adding 2 more games Ffs that's why this league can't and won't Eva move on with the times only 3 divisions now what next? It's fading out why not try something new for god sake!
Back to back singles winner, croydon's number 1, Farley open champ that's all butter wouldn't melt ...

Yeah i can see how voting on something & then deciding to go with the majority of what most people want would cause people to leave the league.

it looked to me as the 13 frames was voted out simply because
no one was in favour of the secretary's game counting as part of
the overall match score, as that was part of the motion to extend
frames the hole lot fell through.

Hi Special K

Have you noticed that there is a direct correlation between the number of teams reducing and the number of games per night increasing? Back when we used to have 7 games we had 5 divisions, then we upped it to 10 games plus secretaries, and reduced to 4 divisions, then we upped it to 11 games plus secretaries and now we have 3 divisions....

As an aside, regulars here will be disappointed to learn that Neil Hall went all the way to Penge Conservative Club before returning back to South Croydon Conservative Club, because he hadn't realised the AGM had been moved....

Unfortunately, as a result, Mr. Hall arrived shortly after the vote on the 13 game proposal, and was unable to argue the case for including the secretaries game as part of this.

I'm sure a more cogent proposal can be put forward for the next AGM?

As Steve had pointed out, the only proposal put forward was one which entailed the Secretary match becoming a part of the match result. The only reason 13 frames came into it was the addition of 1 more frame to keep it as an odd number to have a match winner. As the Secretary match was deemed by virtually all to be a totally separate thing worthy of its own competition, the proposal was rejected.

The Committee were surprised that, considering the amount of jibbering on about more frames that's done on this site, nobody had the sense to get their secretary to propose any increase whatsoever.

So, Danny, it's not about the league being stuck in a rut and unable to progress, it's more about those with all the chat tend to be just that. There no point ranting on here as it ultimately means nothing. If a proposal isn't put forward before the AGM, it can't be voted on. Simple as that. If you want more frames, put a proposal in or stop moaning about it.

Seriously !!! After all the chat & discussion from the people that wanted this, none of them then actually put in a proposal. Thats funny.

Yes Chris, exactly. Then they come back on moaning that nothing ever changes.
Obviously the league is fading out because nobody likes a structured system for proposing changes.

The secretaries thing would have been absolute madness. Every team would just make their best player the secretary.

Not even that, Shaggy, if the Secretary wasn't there, a substitute could be nominated.
