In one of my frames tonight, my opponent went in-off giving me ball-in-hand. I asked the referee if it was a foul snooker assuming he would move the white around the baulk area before making a decision. But instead he insisted that I placed the white so he could check from the position I had put it in.

If a player has ball-in-hand and asks if it is a foul snooker, what is the correct protocol for both the player and the referee?

Regards,
Charles Burrows.

Losing eyes this game is cruel. I do my thing playing pool.

Haha hilarious, great ref,if you have ball in hand then the ref must check whether there is any place behind the line where it would not be a foul snooker, obviously presuming you had asked for 1...butter wouldn't melt ...
