First set was won 4-1 but Stuart made up for his loss with an excellent break and dish that helped us win the second set 5-0.
After lengthy negotiations which involved myself and Merv withdrawing from the contest early and a coin toss Paul played frame 11 and was very unlucky to knock the black in early.
Still it's a great start to our winter campaign with the match played in good spirit and I'm looking forward to the return fixture.
Next week sees us playing from our new venue - The Red Lion in Hackbridge.
