I would like to apologise to the Addicts though for instinctively calling a foul when i wasn't reffing. I, like the rest of my team, believed that if the white jumped over a ball it was a foul. Their player was on the black, miscued and the white hit the top of the black and jumped over it. In the old rules that used to be a foul but seemingly not in World Rules. Thanks to the refs and to their team for letting the refs get on with their job and make the right call.

Are you sure? Jump shots were fouls last time I looked.

Tell me about it Sass. As I wasn't reffing and it was getting a bit heated, I took a back seat and didn't actually read the rule myself. Grettal and their ref read the rule and interpreted it as not being a jump shot if it strikes the object ball and then jumps. Their player did strike the object ball before it cleared it so guess it is ok? I'll read the rules myself later to make sure.

A jump shot is only a foul if the white jumps over a ball it would have hit if it has stayed on the bed of the table in an identical shot. If it hits that ball however, it is NOT a foul.

Hope that helps.handshake

He miscued and jumped the white over the black which he was going for. The black was the object ball and would have been hit had he not jumped. The cue ball made a thick contact on the black as it jumped it. I read the rules as legitimising that shot. Spank me if I'm wrong.

I think The Flower's referring to the tantrum I threw at the end of the night after everyone had left and I found out someone had nicked my jumper. It was a cold walk home in the rain Sad

No I wasn't actually, but now you come to mention it, yes I do recall you embarrassing yourself. Once on the table and one more time off it.

The 62 Div 1 players get a bye into last 128. That leaves 66 spaces to fill. Multiply that by 2 = 132, that gives the number of players needed in the 1st round (last 256). Take 132 from 147 = 15, which is the number of matches needed in the prelim.

I'm off to perform a frontal lobotomy.
Where's your contigency for the plate comp ... the 15 losers from the prelim or are they added to the losers of the 1st round .... thanks for your input but at the end of the day don;t matter which way anyone paints this up theres only one way to go and thats everyone goes into the hat with byes attached accordingly and then the main comp and plate plays off adjacent to one another being 256v256 - 128v128, etc etc and this to apply for all comps.
