Danny is a man of integrity full stop.
As for ? on the div singles, they cannot be counted as they are recorded as ? and not 1's and as far as im concerned you can add up ?'s all day and you wont get a winner!
Well done to the Ego's but it is a shame that the final game to determine the title does not involve a full team for the opposition. Describes the whole season really with many teams struggling for players. Lets hope the Summer expeiment pans out.
Awesome finish by Scott to win the Div 1 singles (or share of it anyway). Its fitting as it may be his last season for a while with the imminent arrival of his twins! |

Sting I agree with you I think the summer league experiment has to extend to the winter league as for it being a shame that we played againgst 5 players, the week before the Hotshots played the unpredictables who only had 5 with two of their best players missing, whats good for the goose ...... |

Well done to the Eagles, glad we closed the gap a bit at the end.
Oh & the ??? in the singles were wins for Rod, its my fault for not chasing them up. Looking forward to the cup next week could be my last game in the croydon league if we lose. |

The procedure with regards to ? on the rankings tables is as follows: Each secretary is given a form at the start of the season upon which he should complete a personal record of his players results in all competitions. If there are any discrepancies at the end of the season, these can easily be clarified by reference to the secretary's sheet. If the relevant paperwork has been completed accurately, there should not be a problem !! |

I am presuming the ? refers to unknown or unrecorded wins due to lost or mislaid scorecards. Which the Hot Shots team were deducted 2 points and penalised. Therefore, if the team gets penalised then the player must too. I presume those cards remain missing. If Rod won them both then fairplay but its taken the best part of 3/4 of the season to mention it. Those two ? remained ? and had not been altered to 1's at the point the last ball of the winter had been hit.
I think they should all carve up the title. Seems the gracious thing to do. |

Mark doesn't produce these forms just for the sake of it !! They are meant to be fully completed so that they can be inspected in the event of any disputes !! It's not too difficult,is it ? |

It weould be a shame for Rod to lose out due to a bad Secretary/Postal Service, nonetheless it should have been cleared up months ago..
I would suspect the opposition captain can confirm the result of said frames, but if they cant remember there probably isnt much that can be done.

Paul,be assured that this matter will definitely be sorted out by Mark Halsey. I am sure that any relevant documentation will be scrutinised by Mark and the correct decisions will be made regarding the "missing" results !! It isn't the first time that it has happened and I'm sure that it wont be the last !! You certainly couldn't have somebody winning such a prestigious title by default !! Should there be a tie situation, there will be a play-off on Tuesday 27th May at Rileys Purley. |

reminds me of the Leeds div 1 fiasco. I think we should refer it to a panel of judges that will waste loads of time and money to agree that a ? is a ? and not a win lol
I think that there must be some time deadline on clarifying both league results and in turn the individual frame result of players. This cant be sorted at the end of the season.
And pondlife re your comments about these forms, im assuming that both teams must submit these forms to the league to check one against the other, and if they show discrepancies then what do you do? further dudect 2 points from each team? No one fills out these forms and im sure cannot remember 20 weeks of pool results.
We should have an online facility to enter scores of matches and individual frames. Then you just use the card signatures to verify who was present in the match and who they played, and this can arrive later as im sure happens with our crappy postal service. |

The vast majority of the league do not use this web-site. Therefore it cannot be used as an additional facility to improve the retention of records. As I've previously said, the reason that these sheets are produced is to provide team secretaries with an opportunity for clarification where a discrepancy might occur. I remain confident that the correct position will be clarified very shortly !! |

i'm sure at least 1 person from each team has internet access...
if not then sign someone up who does...
the game of pool has moved on, so has technology so it's not a stupid suggestion |

The forms are sent out for a reason (being human I can put a loss down when it was in fact a win) but these forms can be doctored with the info that I provide and if there is no card then there is no confirmation to check. I do not believe for one minute that Sean Halligan or Rod Altes would inform me of any dodgy results and to this I will be awarding Rod with his outstanding wins as I have done to many players over the years when I have been contacted by relevent secretary's with the same predicament over missing cards. If this results in a three way win then joint winners trophies will be awarded to all. Play-Offs are only staged if there are joint runners-up which has been in operation for the last 2 to 3 seasons of both leagues. |

I'm pleased that's the outcome as Scott Lansing deserves something for his massive efforts this year and I for one will look forward to going up with him to pick up some shiny . . |

Am I the only person that this thread shoots off wide in the screen for? All the other threads are fine but this one always appears too wide!
Just wondering if it's me or the thread?! :
