This weekend saw the county teams from all over the country compete in the inter county finals at Yarmouth

Well done to Surrey A and Surrey B teams for winning the national A and B titles

This is the first time that a county has held both the A and B team titles since 1996

Several Croydon players took part, including

Kyle Pickett
Sean Kelly
Paul Wildman
Andy Esgrove
Danny Evans
Ray Scott

Apologies if I have missed anyone, feel free to let me know

Yeah you did. Danny Evans also played and another Croydon registered player in Ray Scott (although only played a couple of matches) was also involved.

I can honestly say that the weekend was amazing........

Yes, I have to say that it was my first time at Yarmouth for the Inter-County Nationals and didn't know quite wot to expect...all i can say is wow! What an initiation!

The standard of play was fantastic and the atmosphere electric...and my voice still hasn't recovered.

It was a shame that Surrey Ladies didn't quite find their form until it was too late, but it did give us the opportunity to get behind the A and B teams and show some support.

I didn't get to see the A teams final as I was cheering on the B's and boy, was that a match and a half. They came out fighting and had the edge for a while but then seemed to waver, but they pulled it together managing to bring it back to a draw resulting in a 3-man play off. Something the B's had had plenty of practise at over the weekend and so had it down to a fine art! Think secretly they are addicted to them!! lol

Kyle, Kev and Andy Esgrove were the chosen men for the job. Kyle finished first, unfortunately going in off the break (for the first time that weekend I believe), so B's were 1 down. Kevin on the middle table brought it to 1 1 so all eyes were on Andy, who managed to keep his nerve knowing now that it was now all up to him..well you know the rest.

The B team literally only had seconds to celebrate their win when the cheer came up that the A's had done it too.

Fantastic result for Surrey and especially our own Croydon boys. Well done you!

Then it was all over to the Ladies final to cheer on Kent who also managed an outstanding finish to bring it to a Region 7 whitewash!

It was a great weekend and I'm sure the lads still haven't got the smiles off their faces...congratulations to all of you GrinDGrinD
