rileyes snooker 6 - 4 flying machine.

the two teams furthest from each other in the first round, gotta love that. after driving from biggin hill to lewisham we werent exactly happy to be 4-0 down lol, but we then won the next 4. unfortuanly we couldnt finish it and they took their chances well. good to see the ex slates again, had a good laugh and good luck to them for the rest of the season.

one thing we werent impressed with though, our secretary almost passed out when he went to order drinks at 10:40, to find out the bar shuts at 10:30. what?! what pub shuts at 10:30 on a week night, let alone a rileys. not impressed!

Cue Masters 6 - 5 Farley Loyalists.

Not a great result for the Loyalists but a fun night and a match played in good spirits, we went 3-2 up at the half way point only to throw it all away in the second half as the Cue Masters pulled it back for a 5-5 decider which they won. It's off to the plate for us...

Untouchables 4 - 6 Hurricanes

An excellent win for the boys against a strong untouchables top-5. Came back from 3-1 down, 2 out of 2s from me and big bad Don (nice to have you back mate) really helped. Although my first win was achieved without me even potting a ball (we like those lol)

We didn't use the stopwatch. Should this only be used in the league? Or is it the cup as well

Prop 6 - 2 Lock Stock

At 2 - 2 we had good chances to go ahead, we didn't and the rest is history

We didn't use it either last night which made me realise how much I like the minute rule. Iwasn't a supporter before it came in but now I'm fully behind it!

Forum A 3 - 6 The 193's...

A match that could have been a lot closer had chances been taken, that said it was a slightly understrength Forum side, missing Trevor and Tony.

That's their fault not ours - we took our chances and dispensed with the winter knock out cup winners!!

good 6 1 win for against the maple tree on a piss poor small table and lead balls with that being said pre match this could have been close cos they do have some good players also, but we were swift to put any thoughts of a tight match to bed early

Pond Q's were given a walkover win by The William who unfortunately could not get a team together. I was going to rest key players but in the end it wasn't necessary !! applause

I cant complain too much about this loss. Only gripe would be the cue ball and black going in, Which even teach would agree was harsh. Its the IF's and But's... but winning that frame could have had us at 4-1 up end off first set, But wasn't to be.
Some good games on show and well done to Hurricanes, in the end you deserved it.
All the best for the rest of the KO lads, Hope you win it clapping

Patriots 4 - 6 The Better Halfs.

A close call for us.
First game was a real fudgemonger one brought about by one of the Patriots and lasted well over 15 minutes untill Barrie eventually lost his patience and threw the game. I believe that the Ref should have called a stale mate and reracked as it was clear that nothing was happening for well over 10 minutes and Patriot had balls on.
With hindsight I advised my team mates to play attacking and finish quickly. We went on to win the next 4 in the first set. Next 3 games of the second set were close calls and the Patriots leveled with us. We went on to take the next 2 and finally put the Patriots out of it.
The Patriots did use a stop watch for this match and we eventually concluded at about 11.30. I wonder what would have happened if we went into extra time as the Eagle was waiting to close.
A good night overall apart from the heavens opening up and absolutely soaking us all.
Unlucky to Jacko and his boys but well played.
