this weekend sees the eagles represent croydon at yarmouth,good luck guys,hope you do what the hotshots did a few years ago and win it,

plus league cup winners 2011,2012.2014
plus ko cup plate winners 2011 summer doubles winners 2010winter league champs 2017
and lots of runner up trophys which have been given to local schools. |

It will be extremely tough. We have the Stoke lads which consist of 3 players in the top 10 on the UK Tour. Potts, Adam Davies, and James Croxton. Still anyone can win one frame!

The Eagles have allways done well in the croydon league
with a very high standard of players. I think Croydon will be
well represented at Yarmouth. Every frame is for the taking

I'll ditto that Blockapocket. No team is ever likely to get close to the number of Croydon titles they have taken over the past 30 odd years. Croydon couldn't be better represented this weekend and best of luck to the Eagles. |

sorry to let you down we won 13-1 first match second match we lost 8-4 so we are out having said that we are kicking ourselves because although the team that beat us contained the best player in the world & the current european champ etc we could have done much better and on a different day poss could have won. |

unlucky fellas! in all competitions you need a little bit of luck so just one of those things! totally agree tho croydon couldnt have had a better team representing the league.

Thanks for all the nice words guys. . .
We played a team from Basildon in our first match. They don't play World Rules in their league, so had very limited knowledge. They came to the conclusion that the best way to play and not get caught out by the rules was to play open and attacking.
Suited us just fine that did!
It was a 90 minute bloodbath.
We then had a fairly long break while we waited for our second match.
The "Players" pool team contained some of the best players in the country, the best known being Gareth Potts (Three times World Champion), so it was a fairly tall order, but we all had faith in our own ability.
Unfortunately we came up short, but not without a fight, and testament to how well we played, as we actually all felt dissapointed that we didn't at least get a draw. (A result that would have seen us through)
Thoroughly enjoyable weekend regardless. I can confirm that Shaggy did not stay sober, not one of us did.
