I'd just like to know peoples thoughts on the break at the end of the season. At the end of last summer season we went straight into this winter season. At the end of last winter season we had a 3 week break. I'd like to propose that if we have a 3 week leeway between the two seasons, it should be a 2 week gap at the end of the winter season and a 1 week gap at the end of the summer season.
Does anyone agree and would any secretaries out there like to second this proposal.

I am in full agreement that there should be a sizeable break between the Winter and Summer seasons. It would allow players time to purchase more suitable attire for matches. We've had people turning up for Winter matches with shorts on and for Summer matches with simulated fur accessories. It really does become very confusing. Where am I ?

There would be time for a break between seasons if the schedule wasn't saturated with pointless events such as the Plate events rolling eyes

I'm not too bothered abotu breaks. but there should be some sort of singles event during the break for players who don't want one lol

I can't see the point of breaks between seasons, to be honest. Surely this is a pool league, for people to play pool..
It amazes me that people will either moan about their being too many frames in the new format proposal, or suggesting breaks between the seasons.. Do these people actually want to play pool?
wrong

There has generally been a 3 week gap between seasons in the past. The point I was making is that it shouldn.t be all at once.

i don't remember ever having a 3 week break... maybe that's what your secretary told you so he could drop you for a few weeks!!!
the break we had at christmas was too long, i was gagging to play after that!
you have a couple of weeks off and her indoors gets used to it too much!!!

You only have a 3 week break if your not involved in the later stages of the League Cups and play-offs .... take this current season :-

Tue 6th May - League Week 22
Tue 13th May League Cup Semi-Finals
Tue 20th May - League Cup Final
Tue 27th May Play-Offs
Tue 3rd June - SUMMER LEAGUE WEEK 1

Do you honestly think that I am going to stage these fixtures on a Wednesday or Thursday to accomodate your request for not such a long break.

That makes sense, now I understand why the long break at the end of the winter season. I retract my original suggestion. Thanks Mr Halsey.
