You?ve Been Framed 5-6 The Warbank

We were 4-1 up in the first session. We all played very poor tonight, and we were just off par.
All the best to "You've Been Framed for the rest of the season.
Its been emotional

Farley Dukes 5-6 Penge Con Boys

A friendly but hard fought match, which was decided on the final frame, although it didn't help Ban(ana beer) Man's boys having only 4 players...

A busy night down at the Farley, as all three tables were in action, but good to see a number of faces that I hadn't seen for a while.

Good luck for the rest of the season guys!

Gentlemen, the fixtures have been arranged for our benefit. The unpalatable alternative would have been to have lots of byes, which are not really what anybody wants. As things were, with 12 teams in each division and 6 teams in each league cup group,we had 27 matches to play. Because of the dramatic reduction in the number of teams,we now have only 10(or even 9 teams)in each division. That is why the league cup competition has been elongated. This season we will play 18 league matches and 9 league cup which adds up to 27 again. The result is to have far fewer byes. Surely it is better to play matches rather than have nothing to do ? Unfortunately,it would appear that you cannot please all of the people all of the time, but I personally think that this is a first class attempt to do just that !! IMO

Good call, it's either that or make the season shorter and have a bigger break in between the two. 4 months for summer, 5 for winter and a 6 week break in between.

I'd prefer having a longer break but expect I'm in the minority and most would rather just prolong the league cup to make up the time so the system works.....

I understand the reasons for 4 groups of ten but was not massively in favour of it. I hate agreeing with Wacko though.

It only feels like its a chore to the teams that would have likely qualified under the old criteria anyway, ie the 1st Div Teams + a couple of the better teams from the other Divisions.

We (The Eagles) use the League Cup as we have always done, the lads who have played on Monday get the choice of having a night off, the rest get on with it, and the lads that generally play one league frame get 2.
