A long night in a cold venue. Rileys have been our bogey team for a few seasons and for much of the match it looked like they would have our number again. We were 3-1, 4-2 and 5-3 down but pulled off some good finishes to stay in the match and take it to a decider. In the last Gary Martyn nearly produced a quality dish but wobbled the last yellow. They lost position and laid a snooker with the black half covered but Gary was able to pot the yellow with a load of side and swing the white out to land on the black with a touch of good fortune.
A good match played in a good spirit and the Rileys boys were very unlucky not to walk away with the trophy.
Such a shame the cup final has to be played at this venue the balls were so cold it was like playing with smalls boulders , all very uninspiring am afraid
