I have made a proposal to Mark Halsey as detailed below but as our secretary never attends the AGM's can a team secretary and a seconder (also a team secretary) submit this:
Can I make a suggestion that on 24th June which states a league week 6 game could this be a break week?
This is an England World Cup qualifier game and I am sure that many of the teams would want to cancel their games anyway.
THIS IS THE RESPONSE FROM MARK.
Seems a good scheme Scott but this needs to be proposed by your Team Secretary together with a seconder who has also to be a team secretary .... see under
If you wish to propose any alterations to the current League Rules or Constitution then this must be submitted to the league (together with details of your seconder - refer Item 7d of the League Constitution) by no later than Saturday 15th February to which will be included on the agenda which will be furbished on Wednesday 19th February.
I'd suggest common sense will prevail here in any case, it has done in other World Cup / European Championship years.
Even if football is not your bag, and you want to play the match as scheduled - Every venue will be rammed with patriotic fans screaming at the screen as Danny Wellaverage misses another sitter, so would not be a good night out anyways.
As soon as you get your fixtures, contact your oppo, and agree to the match 24 hours later. I don't forsee too many people not agreeing.
