Slate 3-7 The Jolly
Very enjoyable games against some top lads, but a fair result.
We are hitting some top form at present and this result should see us safe, hopefully see us do well in last 2 league games and give our all in our Semi with the Prop on Monday also...if Everton can get to the FA Cup final then anything can happen !!
Seriously,
Roger and team, best of luck next two games, as with everyone else left battling after tonights games. 3 good teams are going down, whatever happens.... |

Cuemasters 5-5 Patriots - the draw specialists strike again although at 0-4 down it looked like a drubbing was on the cards. Have to say we had the luck when it mattered and the whole match had an air of nothing much to play for. Good atmosphere as always though and good to see Berty make his 2nd appearance in the last 3 weeks. If he stays interested croydonpool.com will be the better for it. |

The Propeller 5 Pond Q's 5 Another boring score draw. I didn't make it ,as I unfortunately decided to stay at home to watch the mighty Gunners partake in the game of the season. Apparently the Prop were extremely fortunate to scrape a draw,as were Liverpool . I cannot for the life of me work out where the referee found nearly eight minutes of extra time as there were hardly any breaks at all. It was almost as if he wanted the scousers to scrape a draw. Generally though the game was well refereed by the crowd. Arsenal had two other perfectly good goals disallowed. We should have won 6-4 !! This guy is apparently supposed to be one of our top referees. I would hate to see the bottom ones perform on a regular basis ! The Unpredictables were soundly thrashed by the Hot Shots 1-9. Can't wait for next week to play the Eden luvvies. It is so sad to see them struggling on a very regular basis. They will be a great loss to the top division. The quality will never be the same again. Are they too good to go down ? Could they become the "Newcastle" of pool ? It could be a very exciting last game for them after we have spanked them next week ! Ooh,it's so exciting !!  |

yes as pat says unpredictables got spanked 9 1 and could have easily been 10 nil,must say we were absolutly terrible last night and well played to the hotshots who took their chances when they matered.

tottaly differnt hotshots last night for monday, with sean just running out of postion on his last ball this could have been our 2nd ten nil of the season we were given chances for sure but we took them all very well |

We got dealt a cruel bit of luck in Truey's 2nd game last night, and we gifted one or two others to the Legion. But credit to them they stuck at it & took out their chances. Scott Lansing was a welcome return of for us and he took out two sick blacks for his 2 from 2. Scott Harkness in 2nd frame dished up in style. For them, Chris & Clive were as normal ultra consistent when allowed amongst the balls, and Andy Hazell played one of the quality shots of the season in his 2nd frame of the night.
As for the Eden, we can't buy a win at present. But again in week 20 the rest of them around us can't buy a win either. Pond next week, and we still have our destiny in our own hands. Thats the difference Pat.  |

No doubt, Sir Tony Nuttman and Teach will have a good excuse worked out for us all.

Ok ill respond. Myself and Sean were keen to watch Taylor as we are both avid darts fans, that simple.
If the Bloodhounds had insisted we were to play we would have. We would have played it earlier however because Adams dad is ill, he is restricted to playing Monday or Tuesday only. We were going to play a double header on Monday but this would have meant Bloodhounds giving uo their home advantage which clearly they didnt want to do.
Ironically if we played it yesterday the Bllodhounds would have been without Darren Porter and Adam, so it would have worked out better for us (especially as Phil Taylor threw about 20 darts and ate for the rest of the night!).
I would have much rather been in the Props shoes. If they had thrown in a 9-1 or similar we would have been under it massively. I would suspect they are more annoyed with themselves than us.
Anyway, Mark agreeed on the basis that the game is played prior to nexts weeks game, the Prop new we were cancellling and could have done the same should they have wished. We are playing the Bloodhounds next Tuesday at 7pm.
Alex, you should be concentrating on the other end of the table my old c0cker.
With regard to why an exhibition on Tuesday, I beleive this was set up to suit the various darts leagues that Rileys want to attract.

it's not often you hear the words 'keen to watch the power' on this website i admit....
we had arranged to play the league match on monday (so would have been in the same position as the prop are) but the big fcuk up with the fixture list meant it was the league cup quarter-final that took place and hence the league match was postponed.
both teams had players missing as 5haggy has mentioned, myself included to have a minor op on my thumb

I think you are missing my point.
Both sides had enough players to field a valid team (3 is enough) - so why was this match cancelled?
Maybe a valid excuse if you were the HOME team, as the darts was at Rileys, but according to the fixture list you were the away side!
We attempted to cancel a game with the Jolly a few weeks back because we were also short of players but the Jolly refused to accomodate our request as we had 3 players available.
Personally, I think it was wrong to cancel last night. Regardless of the Prop's scoreline it gives the Eagles an advantage. If the Prop had won big, you would have had the option to whizz Danny Evans down the M1 for a double header. As for the Hounds, they also now know they are just 4 points adrift of London & 6 behind the Eden. I'd much rather play a match knowing that.... |

That's because we didn't have THREE players available to fulfill the fixture.
Something which last night you clearly both had.
Sir Tony, as a captain who has a team in the relegation shake up, I have a right to express my view whether you like that or not, I am not bothered.

On our game with you that you have mentioned, your team consisted of Barry, Farron, Rab and Scott, 4 very good players in their own right, plus 2 i have never had the opportunity to play against before. So not necessarily your weakest team. And you had the chances to change the score line on the night.
You were also aware, days in advance of issues within your own team and had time to sort things out.
As my PM to you on this also said, i have very few to choose from in the next two league games, but we will play full stop - it's my problem if i cant get a team out, not the oppositions |

I can't see that postponing the game will have any effect on the result, so long as it's played before the next match. Both teams still need to win. |
