I do love a bit of rimming as you can see in the quotes above.

Still maintain it is a load of fuss over nothing. You knew you had to win last night as did the slates against very winnable opposition. You both bottled it but the only other team in that mix is the bloodhounds who are in the same position as before they needed to avoid heavy defeat and they still do.

The bottom line is tho I am not arsed so keep it up as it is quite entertaining.

I think the Power is an absolute disgrace. He comes across as a consummate professional and yet he only played three games, leaving seven players who would love to say they'd played him feeling gutted. His fee should have been withheld.

the fixtures and dates differ depending on what links you get your info from!

power (grrr) your MISSING the POINT... you have accused us of moving the fixture to gain an advantage. fact is, that isn't the case!

there's been plenty of times when people have been missing and matches have carried on. on this occaision there were too many missing.
we originally re-scheduled for monday 21st, in your eyes giving the prop an advantage (albeit that'd never crossed our minds) but then out came the league cup fixtures (that differed to the original fixture list) and the qf was to be played on that same date, leaving us no option but to play after the props game.

both you(eden) and the prop didn't get your expected wins so if anyone is pi55ed off it would in reality be could they felt they'd missed their opportunity to gain more points.

power (grr) if you get promoted next season back to div1 i really hope you don't have to play us cheltenham week again!

Alex, you are giving the appearance of becoming a demented lunatic. You have had matches postponed on many occasions when it suited yourselves !! You aren't in the least bit interested in the destiny of the championship !! You are fixated with your recent results and are rightly pooping yourself at the prospect of being relegated !! What will be,will be !! If you can't get yourselves out of the brown stuff, nobody will do it for you !! The Eagles and The Bloodhounds followed protocol and had the relevant permission to postpone their match. Perhaps you would like to be involved in any potential future postponement decisions. If so,might I suggest that you obtain a proposer and seconder and put yourself forward for a place on the committee. I feel certain that the second division will need a representative next winter season !!

Sir Tony, as a captain who has a team in the relegation shake up, I have a right to express my view whether you like that or not, I am not bothered.

those in our team who weren't watching the darts were visiting me in hospital...

thanks for the flowers and grapes btw guys...

I didn't think any of your team mates actually liked you andy are you sure it wasn't one of them that actually put you in hospital in the first place lol

At the risk of being pedantic it's more M54, M6, M42, M40, M25 but that aside I shall indeed be there for the double header against the Bloodhounds and must admit I'm quite looking forward to it. I'm in London for meetings this coming Tuesday and Wednesday and will be stopping over in Costa del Croydano so might as well chip in while I'm in the area and catch up with my pals.

I'm not. It was a wind up. I only play in CDPL if it coincides with a funeral these days. I was told that there was finally a funny thread on here so I thought I'd tuck in but I guess it was asking too much. I'll leave you all to it once again.

Saxton - I see what you mean by the site slowing up a bit. I'm using the same infusion that you sent me and it hasn't affected anything so I don't think it's that. Also, the site's showing the default favicon and the site hit counter text in the bottom right hand corner needs changing as it's still in Turkish. Give me a shout on MSN if you need a hand.

Shall we get back to the POINT Sir Tony. This is not about our postponed game, as that was nearly 12 months ago and was done so for a valid reason. Need I say it again - we did not have a team. This is about your cancelled match yesterday. This is also not purely about the Eagles. This is also not purely about the Eagles pursuit for the title. There is so much more to it. If, for one second you can take off the blinkers and look at other teams feelings you may just get what I am on about. I am entitled to raise this and will do so again if it effects the Eden. Your match versus the Hounds will have a say on other teams destiny's in this division. Likewise, it will also decide the destiny of the title. Personally, I am more interested in the relegation battle. Just try and see my point for one moment. On Monday night in the League Cup QF, you took out the Hounds 8-2 so of course my team were hoping you would play them 24 hours later. At 10pm on Tuesday - I find out you have cancelled your league clash with them. It later transpires that this has been agreed as far back as 4 weeks prior, around the time we were playing week 18. Surely, its not too much to ask that teams who could and will be effected by your match result are notified of this? Why was this never mentioned when it would effect so many of us. Its called courtesy and none has been shown. However, I do acknowledge that the Hounds had a duty to have made this cancellation public, its called common respect. Likewise the league should have posted something, giving other teams options as your cancelled game had nothing whatsoever to do with not being able to field a valid team but attending a darts exhibition.

Furthermore, I am fully entitled to question why it was cancelled. I am also entitled to question the timing of the cancellation. After all, we are 3 weeks away from the end of the season and lets face it you must have known this would open a can of worms. I am also fully entitled to query why you were permitted to cancel a match when you both had a valid number of players. After all, its hard not to notice what was going on at the top and bottom of the division and that by holding over a match the Eagles & Hounds may just be seen as gaining an advantage?

You know how this league works and something like that will be scrutinised. I am only really bothered about the Hounds situation and Teach has apologised to the other sides for not notifying them so fair play to him.

Which ever way we look at this, the Prop drawing, London & Eden loosing has done both your sides a favour. The Hounds now have a chance to get back a couple of players, and you get back Andy Esgrove. The Hounds now know that 4 will suit them, something they would not have known at 10pm on Tuesday had they been playing. You can't deny that it allows both your sides to work off our previous results.

As for the swearing and name calling. All you have done is what Dotcom did. I'll just let you embarrass yourself and of course I feel disappointed (because we go back along way) that you have to resort and lower yourself to that kind of level. I know you are passionate about the Eagles and I have always respected that. You are a respected and honourary member of Croydon pool history but drop the insults, as they will never rattle me. I thought you was bigger person than that fella.

Icon sorted

I have made a change to the name servers which may speed the site up

I tweaked the site ages ago when it was first mentioned that it was slower, and didnt get any more people saying that it was slow, someone said it had gone back to normal speed

What part of the site have you noticed is slower? I changed the hover box to only bring back the first 200 characters of the last post, before it was 400, if people still think the site is slower, I can take less, but I shouldnt need to touch that as you havent had any problems with the infusions I gave you

The name server change should take effect within the next 24 hours or so

Patrick, as someone who captains a side that is regularly in the 'brown stuff', I'll leave the knowledge of how you deal with that down to you as I have never been in a similar position.

You have MISSED the POINT also. The POINT is, should this match had been allowed to be cancelled when both sides COULD field a side. Whether both sides agree to cancel is irrelevant. There appears no VALID reason for a cancellation. If I was on the committee the request would have been REVOKED.

If we all fancied a week off to do this, that or the other then the league would fall apart.

Its that kind of thoughtless comment that will descend this league into a state of turmoil.

If nobody is bothered then I'll jog on. But remember this, the Eagles and Hounds have set a precedent. If you have a VALID number of players you are permitted to CANCEL a game when in the midst of the biggest title and relegation battle this league has seen since 1996.

Maybe we could rename it. Its called HOLIDAY pool. Take a week off for the price of two. This league is dying out for new sponsorship deals and I can see that the likes of Thomas Cook latching onto this recent scenario. Soon they will be offering weekly package deals. Hounds -v- Eagles. Game scheduled Tuesday 21st April 2009. Instead of playing it guys, we have a lovely week available, self catering in Magaluf. Tell you what fella's, we'll even throw (see what I did then!) in a couple of darts exhibitions with the likes of Bobby 'suntan' George and that Essex chav, Kevin 'Arthur Hewson' Painter.

I am missing the Power's point slightly but if I was in a relegation battle I would want the Eagles to have Golden, Esgrove etc all available and I don't reckon getting the best team in croydon pool riled up in a delayed fixture is a particularly good idea either. I think we have all known the Eagles long enough to know that they play fairly and while they want to win this season they won't lose that much sleep this season if they don't. For me if teams decide to postpone fixtures, both teams agree and Mark H agrees then it is irrelevant of you can field a legal line up or not. Alex, I am sure you have signed people up specifically for a match when you may be short so what is the difference here? When you were at the GG's you could have signed up new players etc? Put simply, if you have postponed league games in the past I don't think you have a leg to stand on and in truth I think it makes no difference at all to the relegation battle or title challenge! I have taken your side over plenty of issues in the past but can't see what your problem is this time. In fact, I think it is unfair to accuse the Eagles of gamesmanship...
