Red Deer Eagles 4 Hot Shots 3

We pinched the decider, in what was a very good match.

Eden 4-3 Bloodhounds

We were 3 zip up. Big frames from Scott with a real sick black, and Farley's 'boy wonder' showed his class and was equally massive on his league debut.

It looked all plain sailing until the Hounds woke up and a spirited fight back from the Hounds made it 3-3, although had it not been for some bad run in frames 5 & 6 we looked nailed on to win earlier. Last frame shoot out was crazy, Arthur had 50 chances, their fella was off his face and still had 52 chances - but we won it and overall we deserved it.

The Bloodhounds may surprise a few sides - they look solid all the way down the order. No Chris Eden? Has he jumped ships?

No it would appear the trip from Barnet is not going to be made by the Clarkes. Whilst thats good for us, its a shame because the young lad is a cracking player and its never good for the league when good players leave. The match will have both teams scratching there heads because each team had a chance in every frame bar one, and the result could have been everything. Just for Power a brief resume.

Kyle breaks goes for clearance, breaks down with two balls left, Eldridge goes for game and misses last red, Kyle plays a great shot but then misses a yellow, Eldridge clears.(4 visits)

Danny breaks and goes for game misses last yellow, Halligan goes for game, misses last red, Danny Clears. (3 visits)

I break go for game break down with two balls left, Rod clears. (2 visits)

Andy Es breaks dry, Chapman goes for game and misses last ball. Snooker, Ian puts black safe, Andy pots a couple and snookers, 2 visits, clears. (7 visits)

Hughie and Lee Bushell have a big old tactical number. Hughie has the pockets, Lee fights hard but Hughie holds on.

Sean breaks, knocks a safe ball out. Michael Brown plays a great dislodge and then shells the peas. (2 visits)

Bailey breaks and has a great chance, misses a black he would get 99 out of 100. Potter snookers gets two and clears. (4 visits).

Hotshots will be thinking they should have won 5-2, but to the same extent, other than Sean Kelly, all our players had opportunities. Other than one frame the match was 100% attack from wherever they were.

no clarkes, no dino, no jake, everyone had a chance in every frame, some good stuff from both sides. i have no doubt that it'll be us two teams taking the champion of champions spots again!

other results I have heard were

Patriots 1 v Prop 6
Coney 5 V Rack pack 2

we started incredibly aggresively in the first two frames with Spry taking on a delicious finish only to miss a tricky black from the break. Similar story in my frame with a new guy looking nailed on to go out missing with two on a stoney finish to leave the rack pack 2-0 down. Step up luke Davis on his league return to take out an absolutely brilliant calculated finish that I have to say I didn't see, welcome back my son. Their guy won well on 4 and both people had chances on 5 but they made it 3-2. Dippy stepped up in the return match of the Rocket, Rocket had a very clearable chance missed and from that point dippy took control to close out the match. James and Paul da Silva shared chances again before Paul missed a relatively easy yellow to hand James the frame.

All in all a 4-3 to us would have bee fair but always a nice match with the Rack Pack who I have to say are still a strong side and will not be in trouble this year. SAS turning up with 4 players is a total joke really. Especially when you consider how long they have been in the making to get here.

Cue Masters 8
Propeller 8
Coney 7
Eagles 6
Eden 6
Unpredictables 6
Bloodhounds 3
Hot Shots 3
Rack Pack 2
Patriots 1
SAS 1

Not really the Power, I expect our ability does that without stats, just trying to demonstrate that it was an incredibly open game thats all. You just concentrate on your fight for survival, and trying to fleece teams of their best players.

And Sass, maths is my specialised subject!

A poor game all round between The Unpredictables and The Drillers really. A good win for Pat in the clash of the old timers against MOD! Also a sterling effort from Rainsy to get out of his sick bed sick to play for the team (he put it down to not "wanting those wankers moaning and bitching on the website"Wink! An enjoyable evening spent with our old pals from The Heath. Good luck to them for the season.

Well played Eden! You deserved the win, although we did give you a mighty scare!!! We think that we've got a solid team for the season and it will be good to have Chris Eden back next week!!ner ner
