warbank 7 - pond 3

If we had not messed up on 3 straight forward clearances it could and should have been 10 - 0 ! Shock:

The pond need a 6-4 next week against the slates to win the league as we have our bye last game to go on!

COME ON THE SLATES Wink

are you sure scott? i worked it out that they need a 8-2 to win it.

b4 last nights - pond q's 101
warbank 94

after last nights result -pond q's 104
warbank 101

next week if you have your 10-0 you'll finish the season on 111.
so they would need a 7-3 to tie, 8-2 to win...?

or have i missed something?

Maple Tree 3 - 7 Bloodhounds

We've tried our best to to threaten the Warbank's 2nd place in the latter half of the season, but in the end it wasn't enough.

A big well done to Scott's boys and Pat's boys - both of you thoroughly desrve promotion.

Back to the match last night - not an easy table to play on but great sandwiches! bow

Cheers Teach!

We were9 points behind with 2 weeks to play and now a slip up by the pond next week could give us the title.

Was just wondering has anyone else won the league chasing a big points gap with 2 weeks to go?

Whether the gap was 9 not too sure, but it was a sizeable lead when the Unpreds had it all tied up in the summer (2005) only to poo it, and the Prop nailed them by 1 point (i think) in the final week of the season. No doubt Knocky will be able to verify this though....laughing

And of course, who can forget Hot Shots in summer 2006. They led from the start only to see their lead wittled down over the final 3 weeks. Eden won in Lewisham in the the final week and then the Prop on hearing the news staged a sick comeback from 3-0 down at the Pawleyne to win the league on the very last frame of the season.

Two years later the same Hot Shots side become National champions...bow I'm outta here

I think The Unpreds were about 5 points clear with three week to go, reduced to levels going into the last game.

The prop beat them 4 0 in about 15 minutes.

The prop had something similar before their first ever league win. they were playing the Hotshots (Ali/Burnett) not the current Hoshots, 3-3 last frame deciding the league.

Wayne ?? had a straight black to win it for the Prop and flapped!

Scott, did you just have a wisdom-tooth out,or did they go the whole hog and remove your brain as well ? You really must be having a laugh. 10-0 ? Normally when a side pots six blacks, they tend to win the match !! Last night, your team definitely had the run of the ball, but you thoroughly deserved the win . Well done for taking the title to the wire. On a personal note,I think that it's a massive advantage to your side because none of your team can afford to own a car ! We had the constant problem of monitoring the safety of our luxury limousines. It's very rare to find a country-club without at least one 40 watt bulb in the car-park !! laughing

Another schoolboy error Scott . Obviously we potted the black in the three games that we won. Who potted the black in your first game ? Who potted the black in Mark's first game ? I'm sure that there was another one but I'm damned if I can remember which one !! I think I've tried so hard to forget about the match, that I have !! laughinglaughing
