Eden 6 - 3 Magnum Force

Not great pool from either team but we are in the next round.

Mangnum Force seem like a nice bunch of guys.

Bloodhound 6 - 4 Foreign Legion

The finish was a little nervy after being 3-0 up, but a great clearance by Scotty won us the match.

Farley Small Potatoes 6 - 5 The Warriors

What a night! The Small Pots were 3-2 up at the end of the first set with Daniel, playing 5th, winning his first frame of the season. The Warriors then fought back winning the next 3 frames to bring it to 5-3 in their favour. With the score standing at 5-4 to the Warriors it was all down to our own little dark horse Frank, who by winning his first frame of the season too, managed to bring it to 5-5.

It was unfortunate for the Warriors that their player got caught up in the moment in the play-off and forgot to nominate after the break giving John a chance at the table. It was a good final game but John got the win, giving the Small Pots their first win of the season

It was a great night, with lots of laughs (and blushes!) embarassed. A thoroughly enjoyable match against a great bunch of lads and I think the end result shows a true picture of the frames played.

So well done again to Daniel and Frank for their first wins, clapping and well done to the Farley Small Potatoes for their first win this season...let's hope it's onwards and upwards from here on!!!
Come On The Farley Spuds!!!

I do apologise about the two drunks Mr Deegan. I'm pleased your team stayed in good spirits, and I actually thought it was funny when one of the drunk fellas started crying just because he'd been asked to be quiet.

With regards to your unfortunate snooker behind the black, I am extremely sorry about our player's reaction to it. This was the same player who got us into all our problems with the Pond Q's in the Summer. I have spoken to him this morning, and reminded him that you just don't play the game in that way!

I do feel embarrassed as a captain and secretary when these things happen!

Pawleyne Arms 2 - 6 Goodfellas

First thing to say is that this match actually came to a conclusion as opposed to last weeks shenanigans!. It seems lately with us lot though that there has to be some controversy and this was the case with the frame that took us over the winning line. Peter Brown was foul snookered with just his yellow and the black on the table. He nominated the black as the free ball. Hit it but it followed his yellow straight into the pocket. Following a phone call to Swetts and some scrutiny of the rules it was decided this was a loss of frame foul. Match over. Apart from this frame the others we won were deserved i think. Nice bunch down at the Pawleyne, good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Romance indeed!

No complaints from me. Fair result I think.
We didn't do enough to win.

Good luck in the quarter to the Jolly.

It was nice to meet you lot and put faces to the names, although it wasn't so nice to be censored at pool. We really didn't show up.

The icing on the cake was when I got pulled over for "a random check" (in other words no reason at all) on the way home and made to stand at the side of the road in the cold for 30 mins while they waited for a breathalyser. There were four cop cars all with their lights flashing and about 10 pigs - I mean cops. Nice to see my tax money being put to such good use. They were all so disappointed when I passed that it almost made me happy. Sums up the whole evening in my opinion.

Good luck in the rest of the cup.

As has been said last night was a poor match - both sides missing chances/easy balls only to leave the opponent safe......

The best thing about playing the M.force is Kenny briant shouting out random tourettes-like commentary swear
as the cue ball flows up and down the table - hillarious laughing
Glad to have got through another potential banana skin

haha, yeah weird isn't it - I was at that point already thinking I'd had too much and was going to go on to juice all the same. I am a drink driving veteran and have a pretty good idea of how many units are in each drink and how long they take to leave your system, but there's no doubt I was a bit lucky as I'd had one more than I thought I should. Words cannot describe the relief I felt when the machine came up with the word "Passed" in big letters. I just wanted to hold it in the copper's face and be like HAAAAAA - they looked completely destroyed when they found out I was sober!
