So what are peoples first impression to the new format?

It's early days for this bold new adventure, and it will take a while for people to get used to it, and develop strategies of how they want to play their team order, but feedback is always welcome.

Our match went very smoothly. It helped that we played the Rack Pack who we know and love, so it was all very easy and relaxed.

New format works for the BeachTree. We had 9 players turn up yesterday so everyone got a game. Much better than having to tell players who turn up week in/week out that they can't play.

Squad rotation is gone - Finally.

Just out of curiosity, what time did your matches finish last night?

Ours started at 8:30pm and was done by 10pm and that included two or three tactical frames . .

At 9.15 we were still on the second game. Finished about 10.45 I think.

We didn't break off on time, just after 8.30pm and the match was finished around 10.20ish. New format allowed us to give everyone present a game, with a couple of us having two frames last night. Not sure we will adopt the same policy in the Cup, though you do have the added bonus of waying up the situation after the 1st set.
Our opponents last night turned up with only 6 players (which is the turn out they had for most of last Winter season) so new format certainly works for them.

We didn't start till about 8:40ish, but were finished by 10:40, with a long break in between to eat our chicken kebabs.

Have to take your hats off to the Farley Loyalists. Left Thornton Heath at 7.45pm for the return trip to Biggin Hill, 10 frames later, they are back (victorious) in the pub at 11.15pm.....

We started at 8.40ish and finished about 10.30....

To be honest it was nice to be playing all night, rather than finsihing at 9.20 or something.

I woul prefer it if you could play the players in any order, but that is what the trial is all about.

HAHA... Its clearly stated on the cards the order you need to play if your the away team for the next group of 5.

People playing twice in one set of 5 is crazy!

I have to be honest, I would prefer this format, if a team has more than 5 players, then everyone can get a game. I've seen this format work really well in sunny Wales, where I used to live, many moon years ago!!

I think it's more a problem when you get 2 players who don't know what they are doing and therefore struggle to develop the game. That's when it can take longer than it should.

I do think that it is sensible to play as many games as possible, but I still think that there is no justification for the two-set format. As you can see,all four games played in division 2 last Tuesday finished up as draws .What a bore !! There should be an odd number of games to ensure a winner whether or not there is a win bonus !! It should be like a cup match. If the score is 5-5,one player from each side is selected to play a one frame play-off !!Minimum Team complement to remain as 5 !! I also do not think that it matters where a player elects to play his two games. What difference does it make ? wall

Penalty shootout at 5-5
Black ball on its spot, 5 players from each team take turns to put the cue ball anywhere along the baulk line and try to pot the black.
Make the game more fun thats what pool needs.

I couldn't be bothered to start a new thread......

What happens tomorrow night in the team Knockout Cup if it goes to 5 - 5?

Apologies if this question has already been asked.
